Vera Theresa Johnson

Deacon Vera T. Johnson, affectionately known as “Tee Tee”, quietly passed from this earthly life to join her heavenly father and family on Monday, February 7, 2011 at age 102. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hezekiah and Rachel Johnson; 3 sisters; Alice J. Lewis, Mary L. Dunn, Muriel B. Johnson and 2 brothers, Hezakiah M. and William E. Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory a niece/adopted daughter, Carol Ormond(Howard); nieces, Vashti Tanzillo, Valerie Clarke(Reginald), Audrey Hazelwood(John), Cassandra Washington(Herman), and Gail Jones(Ralph); nephews, Dennis Harding(Helen) and Keith Johnson; two God-Children, Muriel Burrell and Stephanie Cason; a host of Great and Great nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home 2011 Grayland Ave. where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday 11a.m. at Riverview Baptist Church, 2604 Idlewood Ave. where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Stephen Hewlett(pastor) officiating. Interment – Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45a.m. Friday.
