Departed this life December 14, 2011. Roland Brooks Jr. of Chesterfield, formerly of Bronx, New York. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Viet Nam War Veteran. He was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Brooks; one son, Roland Brooks of Freepor,t New York; one step son, Prince Gray; four grandchildren; Princess, Anthony, Shaniya and Alana Rose; his step father, Donald James of New York; one sister, Valerie James of Orlando, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Judy Brooks; one sister-in-law, Kathy Barrett; one brother-in-law, Samuel Jones; and other relatives and friends, among them Ronnie Dock, Rotia Jackson, Hazella Thornhill, Frank Baylor, and Michael Milner. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1PM at Riverview Baptist Church, 2604 Idlewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Stephen Hewlett(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family, friends and organizatons assemble at the church 12:45PM Tuesday.
