Departed this life January 9, 2012. Don Turner of Richmond. He is a retired officer from the Richmond City Police Department and the U. S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Turner; two daughters, Sondra Thomas and Cynthia Turner; four sons; Don Jr. & Sherman Turner and Tyrone & Maurice Miller; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; three daughters-in-law; Leslie Turner and LaRee & Jacquelin Miller; one son-in-law, Fred Thomas; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Covington and Elyne Williams; two brother-in-law, Clarence and Arthur Williams and other relatives and friends among them three devoted, Arthur, Michelle and Heavyn Champion. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 7PM on friday at New Kingdom Christian Ministries, 3200 Dill Avenue. Funeral services will be held Saturday 12 noon at Fourth Baptist Church, 2800 P Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Emory Berry Jr.(pastor). Dr. Leonidas B. Young II officiating. Interment Quantico National Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at Fourth Baptist Church 11:45AM Saturday.
