Departed this life March 18, 2012. Mrs. Gladys M. Purdie of Richmond. She was preceded in death by husband, Acie Purdie. She is survived by one sister, Luvina Williamson; one brother, Jerry Lumpkin; two devoted nieces, Louise Streater and Shirley Lynch; a host of nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends among them devoted friend, Ruth Cosby. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday at St. Peter’s Baptist Church, 2040 Mountain Road where remains will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Dr. Kirkland R. Walton(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Friday.
