James W. Briggs

Departed this life April 27, 2012. James Briggs Sr. of Richmond. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Briggs H. Candia, his father and mother, Jerry and Emma Briggs, and a second mother, Queen Ritchie. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Briggs; one daughter, Christine Briggs; two sons, James Jr.(Cle) and Ritchie Sr.(Karen) Briggs; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister-in-law, Bertha Wall; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 12 noon at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Tuesday.
