Departed this life May 29, 2012. James Russell Jr. of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his son, Rotell Russell. He is survived by a devoted companion, Mary Ann Champ; one daughter, Darlene Johnson; four grandchildren; Rotell Jenkins, and Latesha, Maya, and Michael Johnson; one great grandson, Jaedyn Johnson Lee; his mother, Mary Cook; four sisters; Odessa Washington, Merlentene Whitehurst, Janice Sanders, and Harriet Lewis; three brothers; Robert Earl Russell Sr, Robert Cook, and Donald Cook; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; one son-in-law, Michael Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Linda Russell, Sharon Cook and Cindy Cook; one brother -in-law, Ron Sanders; and other relatives and friends among them his ex-wife, Laura Russell. Memorial services will be held Saturday 2PM at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 1:45PM Saturday.
