Departed this life June 13, 2012. James W. Atkins Sr. of Richmond. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joann Atkins; one daughter, Rosette Atkins; two sons, James Atkins Jr. and Timothy B. Atkins Sr.; five grandchildren; Timothy Jr. & Joy Atkins, Chasity Benjamin, and Keasha & Kianna Pugh; four sisters; Beatrice Wood, Audrey Hawkins, Emma Smith, and Eunice Davis; one brother, Thomas Pope Jr.; one uncle Al Pope; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Adrian Atkins; three brothers-in-law, Jerry & Charles Newsome and Ronnie Smith and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30PM to 7:30PM Monday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11AM at the Redeemed Church of God in Christ, 5601 Bryce Lane where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Elder George Williams(pastor) off. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Tuesday.
