Benjamin Whitley Sr.

Departed this life August 26, 2012.  Benjamin Whitley Sr. of Richmond, formerly of North Carolina.  He retired from the United States Army and also GRTC.  He is preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Maurice Whitley Jr.  He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Whitley;  two daughters, Kimberly Whitley Sanders and Lateesah Whitley;  four sons; Clayton Jackson, and Paul, John, & Tauheed Whitley;  six grandchildren;  one sister;  five brothers;  one aunt;  a host of nieces, nephews and cousins;   four daughters-in-law;  mother-in-law, Jeanette Smith and her husband Howard;  seven sisters-in -law;  six brothers-in-law;  and other relatives and friends among them Shannon Sanders and two very special devoted friends Carolyn Doyle, and Ernest Randolph.  Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr.  Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30PM.  Eldress Patricia Whitley and Muhammad Salaam(eulogy).  Interment Dale Memorial Gardens.  Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:15PM  Friday.  Online condolences can be made at www.jenkinsjr.com.
