Dunn, Departed this life November 18, 2007. Mrs Oria Elaine Dunn of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph A. Dunn. She is survived by one son, Rudolph Keith Dunn; one sister Marion Cook of Altavista; two brothers, Vernon Davis and John Davis, both of Lynchburg; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, among them a devoted cousin whom she considered a brother, James Clarke; one sister in law, Johnsie Davis; one brother in law, James Cook; and other relatives and friends among them a devoted friend whom she considered a sister, Yvonne Hendricks. Mrs. Dunn was a retired Richmond Public School teacher with over 35 years of service. She was a life long community and political activist. She was a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She was also a past president of the Maymont Civic League. She was active with the Democratic Party of Virginia. She was also a graduate of Virginia Union University. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30P.M. on Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart located at Park Avenue and Laurel Street at 11AM where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Family and friends assemble at the cathedral 10:45AM Saturday. In lieu of lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Delta House Foundation.
