Ann DeShields Vance

Vance, Departed this life January 19, 2008 at home surrounded be her family. Deacon Ann Deshields Vance of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alene DeShields and a brother Ronald DeShields. She is survived by her husband, Sidney Vance; two sons, Derick and Errol Vance; her father, James C. DeShields and her stepmother, Mabel DeShields; three brothers, Harold, Claude and Calvin DeShields; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; three sisters-in-law, Francine & Joyce DeShields and a devoted, Paula K. Missouri; and other relatives and friends among them a special friend, Linda Minor, and two godchildren, Cameron and Morgan Brown. She retired from the Goochland County Public School System as a teacher. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30P.M. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11A.M. at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street, where remains will lie in state on hour prior funeral time. Dr. Earl Brown (pastor) Dr. Stephen Hewlett off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45A.M. Thursday.
