Departed this life February 14, 2013. Walter Smith of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Smith. He is survived by two daughters, June Smith and Olympia Hughes; one son, Maurice Byrd; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister-in -law, Lucy Smith; and other relatives and friends Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1PM. Interment private. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:45PM Wednesday.
