Departed this life March 9. 2013. Mrs. Margaret A. Thomas, age 73, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester C. Thomas Jr. She is survived by three daughters; Gloria A. Singletary, Latrice C. Jeffrey and Esther D. Taylor; three sons; Michael C., Melvin S. and Douglas J. Thomas; one step daughter, Katrina E. Hart-Hatcher; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Mack Alston Sr. and Carol Alston Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters - in-law, Maria and LaTonya Thomas; two sons-in-law, Paul Jeffrey and Jerome Taylor; four sisters-in-law, Queen E. Thomas, Margaret White, Sylvia T. Howard and Henrietta Gregory; one brother-in-law, Clarence Thomas and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday 1PM at First Union Baptist Church, 3510 Dill Road where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Alvin T. Armstead Jr.(pastor)off. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Friday.
