Nelson W. Simmons

Departed this life March 15, 2013. Nelson Simmons, age 52, of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Simmons. He is survived by his mother, Eva Simmons; three sisters; Joanie Henderson, Terry Bolling and Deborah Simmons; one brother, George Simmons; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; one brother-in-law, Earl Henderson; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10AM at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 9:45AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to McGuire VA Hospital in the name of Nelson Simmons.
