Wycker Smith

Departed this life April 13, 2013. Mrs. Wycker T. Smith, age 96, formerly of Hunt Avenue. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Smith Sr. She is survived by one daughter, JoHanne C. Young; two sons, Edward C. Smith Jr. of New York and Edwin W. Smith; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins among them a devoted Jesse King; two daughters-in-law, Allison and Jennifer Smith; one brother-in-law, Howard Smith and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10AM at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 9:45AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels.
