;Departed this life May 9, 2013. Nathaniel DeWitt of Richmond. He is preceded in death by three daughters; Doris Moore, and Patricia A. & Carlissa N. DeWitt; two sons, Calvin N. and Karl L. DeWitt. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy DeWitt; two daughters, Willistine D. DeWitt and Christine M. Crawford; two sons, Marvin L. Sr. and Morris D. DeWitt; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four sisters; Janie Simon, Maggie Smith, Edna Mae Zimmerman and Mary DeWitt; one brother, Asbury DeWitt; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Theresa and Lisa DeWitt; one son-in-law, Karl Crawford Sr.; four sisters-in-law; Lila Mae Montgomery, Mary Waiters and Theresa and Mabell Moses; one brother-in-law, Eddie Zimmerman and other relatives and friends among them a devoted James Stevenson. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1PM at Fifth Baptist Church 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Ricardo Brown(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Thursday.
