Mary B. Harris

Departed this life July 28, 2013. Mrs Mary A. Brown Harris, age 81, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Harris., one daughter, Martha Harris; and one grandson, George R.(Bunny) Harris. She is survived by her loving family, one daughter, Ellen H. Sookins(Elwood); three grandchildren; Crystal Thomas(James), LaTonya Bobbit(Kenneth and Jason Sookins(Tamiko); twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a devoted companion, Robert Evans; a host of nieces and nephews among them a devoted Clara Harris and family; a host of cousins among them a devoted Shirley Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Brown and Mary Brown; and other relatives and friends among them devoted Dorothy Baylor and Henry Tucker Jr. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday 12 noon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 1902 Rosewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Michael Moore(interim pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Thursday.
