Alphonso Whitaker

Whitaker, departed this life September 30, 2013, Alphonso Whitaker of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Taylor Whitaker; one daughter, Mary Anna Whitaker; two step sons, Frank and Wesley Taylor; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Henry Whitaker; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Catherine Taylor; one sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Whitaker; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Monday 1pm at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 Monday.
