Jabbar, Departed this life May 24, 2008. Mrs. Rashidah Abdul Jabbar of Richmond. She is survived by her husband, Robert Abdul Jabbar; one daughter, Yvonne Ovinas of West Palm Beach, Florida; one son, Edward Abdul Jabbar; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Joyce Brown; two aunts ,Geraldine Williams of Brooklyn, New York and Lucy Lee Ruffin of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; her step mother, Gladys Hill of Rocky Mount, North Carolina a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister- in-law, Cecile Owens of Greenville, South Carolina; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11A.M. Imam Muhammad Salaam and Minister E. V. Walker off. Internment Al-Barzakh Cemetery, Doswell, Virginia. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 10:45A.M. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Associaton, Incorportated(APDA).
