Lucille Green

Departed this life December 20, 2013. Mrs. Lucille V. Carey Green, age 100, of Richmond. She was the first African American to integrate Stratford Hall Nursing Home as a LPN. She was the founder and former dean of the Church of God in Virginia Leadership College. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Simeon Green Sr. She is survived by one step daughter, Viola Carter(Charles); a host of grandchildren among them one grand daughter, Naomi Green; two grandsons, Rev. Dr. Simeon Green III(Velma) and Frederick D. Green Sr.(Jackie); a host of great grandchildren among them Aaron Johnson and Frederick Jr., Crystal, Mikelin, Charmayne and Marcus Green; a host of great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday 12 noon at the 21st Street Church of God, 1601 N. 21st Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Silas Oliver(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Friday.
