Departed this life January 29, 2014. Simon Bower, age 79, of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Helen Bower; one daughter, Enid Hewlett; one son, Neil Bower; four grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister, Ida B. Chambers; two brothers, Walker M. and Gerald J. Bower; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Wilma Bower; one sister-in -law, Phyllis Bower; one brother-in-law, Norvell Chambers and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11am at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM church.
