Larry D. Poindexter

Departed this life March 8, 2014. Larry D. Poindexter, age 63, of Richmond. He is survived by three daughters; Orainnia Poindexter, Shekeitha Weaver and Marisha Hicks; one son, Corey Poindexter; nine grandchildren; mother, Myrtle Atkins; two sisters, Jacqueline Lewis and Geraldine Thompson; two brothers, Robert(Bobby) and Barry Poindexter; one step brother, Sandy Atkins Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Regina Poindexter; three sisters-in-law, Clarissa & Monique Poindexter and Joanne Atkins; two brothers-in-law, Leonard Lewis and Gus Thompson; and other relatives and friends among them a devoted companion, Goroma Mazonde. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday 12:30PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2811 Fendall Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. A. Lincoln James(pastor) off. Interment Maury Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:15PM Friday.
