Laura G. Imes

Laura G. Imes, age 94, of Richmond, native of Newport news, VA, peacefully went home to be the The Lord on April 4, 2014. After 31 years of marriage, she was the widow of Henry L. Imes, a native of Winston Salem, NC. Born to the late Harvey and Georgia Giddings, Mrs. Imes was the last surviving offspring of six siblings. She was a retired educator of the Newport News, VA public school system where she taught for 37 years as an elementary school teacher. She later relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 2006 and resided with her daughter, Miss Karen F. Imes. She’s also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home 2011 Grayland Avenue where chapel services will be held Thursday 2PM, Minister Perry Fuller off. Interment at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 1:45PM Thursday
