Departed this life April 13, 2014. Garland J. Thompson of Glen Allen. He is survived by his wife, Wanda C. Thompson; two daughters, Brandi Pleasant and Ashley Robinson; two sons, Brent and Ryan Thompson; six grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Taylor and Marguerite Crump; one brother, Benjamin L. Thompson Jr.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; daughter- in- law, Remy Thompson; son- in- law, Curtis Pleasant; two sisters- in- law, Pearl Thompson and Charlotte Christian; brothers- in- law, Raymond Taylor and Robert Gayle and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home 2011 Grayland Ave. where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7pm Friday. Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday at New Kingdom Christian Ministries 3200 Dill Ave where remains will lie in state 1 hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Leonidas Young II(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Saturday.
