Quietly passed peacefully in his sleep May 11, 2014. George F. Bland, age 92, of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Price Bland. He is survived by his son, Frank Bland(Irene); two grandsons, Michael and Quincy Bland; three sisters; Evelyn B. Brown, Harriet B. Furman(Richard) and Shirley B. Stokes(Arthur); one brother, Lewis Bland; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Bland was a Pearl Harbor Survivor who served on the USS West Virginia. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association. He was also a member of King David Lodge #28(Prince Hall Afilliated). Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. The family will receive friends Saturday 10AM at Sixth Baptist Church, 400 So. Addison Street followed by the funeral at 11AM.
