Departed this life May 16, 2014. Mrs. Montein A. Atkins, age 62, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Atkins. She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Hawkins; one son, Leroy Atkins; four grandchildren; William and Nicholas Hawkins and Kara and Kera Atkins; three great grandchildren; three sisters; Rosa Lee Hawkins Carroll, Argie Marie Ford and Mildred Gray; two brothers, Lawrence and Phillip Hawkins; aunts, uncles, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Karen Atkins; and other relatives and friends among them a devoted companion, Clifton Valentine. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Saturday 12 Noon at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Ricardo Brown(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Saturday.
