Francine Alfeda Sookins

Departed this life suddenly May 21st, 2014. Ms. Francine Sookins, age 64, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Frances N. Sookins. She is survived by her father, John A. Sookins Sr.; three sisters; Kinsella Sookins-Reaves, Margaret A. Sookins and Brenda Sookins Wright; one brother, John A. Sookins Jr.; three aunts; Lillian Givens, Dorothy Nickens and Delores Sookins; one great aunt, Julia Elizabeth Garlic; host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister-in-law, Pamela C. Sookins; two brothers-in-law, Douglas A. Reaves and Moses W. Wright and other relatives and friends among them a childhood friend and college roommate, Joanne Robinson and travelling buddy, Mable Jones. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Omega Omega services will occur Friday at 6:30pm followed by family visitation ending at 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday 1PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 1902 Rosewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Michael Moore(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Saturday.
