Departed this life May 22, 2014. Missionary Mattie M. Carter, age 89, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry T. Carter. She is survived by two daughters, Paulette Singleton and Pauline Williams; one son, David Williams; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Scott and Arlene Rogers; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Joann Williams; one son-in-law, Randy Singleton; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Duren and Rosie Lee Woods; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday 10AM at the Redeemed Church of God in Christ, 5601 Bryce Lane where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Elder George Williams(pastor) off. Interment City Point National Cemetery, Hopewell, Virginia. Family and friends assemble at the church 9:45AM Friday.
