Rev. Joseph Godfrey

Departed this life May 29, 2014. Rev. Dr. Joseph Allen Godfrey, pastor of Disciples for Christ Community Baptist Church, age 77, of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Godfrey. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Godfrey; two daughters, Bonnett M. Beard and Martha Ann Pace; one son, Thad Godfrey; three step daughters; Temesiah Vaughan, Shawnda Williams(Marquel) and Lakeisha Wilson(Daniel) twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin F. Godfrey; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; his mother-in-law, Alice Williams; one daughter-in-law, Keyla Godfrey; one son-in-law, Alvin Pace; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Harris and Clarissa Williams; four brothers-in-law, Walter, Robert, Larry and Marvin Williams, and other relatives and friends. A memorial celebration of life will be held Saturday 11AM at 7521 Commanche Drive where Disciples for Christ Community Baptist Church share the sanctuary with Southhampton Baptist Church. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45am Saturday.
