Departed this life May 30, 2014. Mrs. Rachel S. Walker, age 89, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie H. Walker and son, Winston N. Reed Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Marie A. Johnson; one son, Edward P. Reed; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Bell Sims Anderson; one brother, Shand Sims; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Edna Reed; one sister-in-law, Anna Lou Sims; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday 1PM at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Friday.
