Calvin Barnes

Departed this life June 21, 2014. Calvin Barnes, age 78, of Richmond. He was a member of the Maggie Walker Class of 1957. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Barnes; one daughter, Traci Johnson; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Joan Kersey; one brother, James Barnes; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins among them a devoted Aline Wyche; two sisters-in-law, Mary Harris and Lois Barnes; two brothers-in-law, Sylvester Ford Jr. and Charles Kersey; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30pm Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday 12 noon at Second Baptist Church, 1400 Idlewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. James Harris(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the 11:45AM Thursday.
