Eva Word

Departed this life August 8, 2014. Mrs. Eva Word, age 84, of Richmond. She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Cook and Ruth Currier; two sons, Roscoe Miller and Harry C. Jones; eight grandchildren among them a devoted Rosalyn Ross; sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson; one sister, Velecia Golden; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Alnetta Miller and Beatrice Jones; one son-in-law, Henry Cook; one brother-in-law, John Golden and other relatives and friends. She was very active in local politics. Remains at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Saturday 1PM at Second Baptist Church, 1400 Idlewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. James H. Harris(pastor) off. Interment private. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Saturday.
