Venia Thornton

Departed this life September 3, 2014. Mrs. Venia “Toe” Thornton, age 56, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Montgomery Thornton. She is survived by two sons, Deon and Demond Thornton; one granddaughter, Daniyah Thornton; one sister, Bonnie Jefferies(James); two brothers, Melvin Hardy(Dawn) and Howard Hardy Jr.(Gracie); an aunt, Wilhelmina Lee; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; brothers-in-law, James Thornton Jr.(Hattie) and Byron Thornton; and other relatives and friends among them two devoted, Lillian and Audrey Christian(Elton Jr.). Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday at Moore Street Baptist Church, 1408 W. Leigh Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Alonza Lawrence(pastor). Rev. Bernard Lee off. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Monday.
