James Arthur Benjamin

Departed this life December 23, 2014. Rev. James Benjamin, age 79, of Richmond. He is survived by his wife,; Sandra Benjamin, five daughters; Julia Muldrow, Martha Benjamin, Cynthia Braxton, Lahsandra Benjamin and Deborah Benjamin; four sons; George Thornton, Donnell Thornton, Emmanuel Benjamin and James A. Benjamin II; 15 grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; seven sisters; Mary Jane Hunter, Cora Mae Pompey, Geraldine Jackson, Jeanette Crestwell, Annette Graham, Shirley Petway and Martha Abraham; five brothers; Burness Johnson, Thomas Lee Johnson, Terry Graham, Larry Graham and Radford Graham; one aunt, Ruth Benjamin; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two sons- in-law, Alvin Braxton Sr. and Bernard Becton Sr.; five sisters-in law, Gloria Graham, Maria Graham, Dolores Johnson, Marie Johnson and Daisy Benjamin; three brothers-in-law; Willie Pompey, Sammy Jackson, Elder Michael Petway and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where funeral services will be held Friday at 1PM. Elder Leroy Conner off. Interment Petersville Baptist Church, New Canton, Virginia. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:30PM Friday.
