Elizabeth Chavis

Departed this life January 27, 2015. Mrs. Elizabeth Chavis, age 98, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Chavis, one daughter, Doris Jefferson, four sons; Arthur, Johnell, Ulysses and Ralph Chavis. She is survived by two daughters, Julia Van Norden and Elnora Van Norden; four sons; Freeman, Alfred, Sylvester and Chief Master Sargeant US Air Force Rudolph Chavis; 39 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; 43 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; five daughters-in-law; two sons-in law; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in -law and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Monday 1PM at Second Baptist Church, 1400 Idlewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. James Harris(pastor) off. Interment Maury Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Monday.
