Tompkins, Departed this life December 1, 2008. Ed Tompkins of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ruffin Tompkins and eleven sisters and brothers. He is survived by five nieces; Ella Coleman, Barbara Duncan, Ida Grisley, Inez Tompkins and Phyllis Taylor; two nephews; James Robertson and William Tomkins; great nieces; 1 brother-in-law, Kenneth Ruffin and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 9th at 11AM. Dr. Earl M. Brown off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 10:45AM Tuesday.
