Catherine Jefferson

Departed this life April 4, 2015. Mrs. Catherine Jefferson, age 89, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by two sons, Anthony & Henry Jefferson and one granddaughter, Sylvia Gregory. She is survived by two daughters, Altena Gregory and Claudia Jefferson; three grandchildren; Kathy Lawrence, Sabra Coles and Marian Jefferson; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Wimbush and Laverne Terry; three brothers; Wallace, Samuel and Cordell Terry; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins among them a devoted Mary Alice Miller; one daughter-in- law, Marianette Jefferson; one son-in-law, Jack Gregory; three sisters-in-law; Myra, Van and Niccie Terry; one brother-in-law, Pierce Carter; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11AM at New Vernon Baptist Church, 2701 Oak Level Road, Halifax, Virginia 24558 where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. John Anthony Elliot(pastor) off. Interment Church Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Saturday.
