Dewey Berkley Barksdale

Barksdale, Departed this life January 7, 2009. Dewey Berkley Barksdale Sr. of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Barksdale and one daughter. He is survived by two daughters; Sharon B. Jackson and Karen L. Casey; one son, Dewey Berkley Barksdale, Jr.; three grandchildren; James Coles Jr., Tonia Hamlin and Jordan Barksdale; one great granddaughter, Parker Hamlin; two sisters; Ophelia Rux and Bernice Seymour; one brother, Harry Barksdale; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Joye Barksdale; and other relatives and friends, among them a devoted companion, Thelma Redd. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM on Tuesday, January 13. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14 at 1pm at Forest Baptist Church, 1097 Meherrin Road, Meherrin, Virginia, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Dennis L. Blanding(pastor) off. Interment Forest Baptist Church cemetery.
