Brown, Departed this life January 18, 2009. Russell C. Brown of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Wynn Brown. He is survived by one daughter, Beverly Brown Payne; three grandchildren; LaShawn, Robert Jr. and Rahsaan Payne; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ida M. Moss and Bettie Fitzgerald; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins among them a devoted nephew, Earl N. Wynn; one son-in-law, Robert L. Payne Sr.; one sister-in-law, Ethel Ray Brown of Baltimore, Maryland; and other relatives and friends. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during World War II. He was also a member of Lone Star Lodge, Order of Odd Fellows, Inc. and the Richmond Jazz Society. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM on Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 1902 Rosewood Avenue where he had a lifetime membership and where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Dr. Sylvester Smith off. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family, friends and organizations assemble at the church 11:45AM Friday.
