Ronald(Ronnie) Buchanan passed away peacefully Thursday June 25th after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Gunn, his father, Morris Howard and his brother, Tyrone Gunn. Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he received an honorable discharge. He was a retiree of Phillip Morris where he was a team leader for more than 32 years. Ronald was an avid bowler. He served as secretary/treasurer for the Joker’s Wild Bowling Club/League. Ronald was president of the Greater Richmond Bowling Association for four years. He then went on to become a member of the board of directors until his passing. Ronald was also a Chief Officer of Voter’s Registration Precinct 213. He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Patricia Parker(Joe), Belinda(Lynn Gunn) Jenkins(Gregg,) who were also his devoted caretakers; two brothers, Malik Shabazz(Vejetta) and Jeffery Gunn; stepfather, Johnnie Gunn; one sister-in-law; three aunts; two nieces, Melissa Dillard(Jack) and Ayanna Shabazz; three nephews; Shaun Anderson, Dayon Cunningham and Zakiyy Shabazz; three great nieces: Jakeisha, Jabria and Janyia Dillard and one great, great niece and numerous cousins; two devoted best friends, Wilbert Boyd and Linwood Nicholson. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Wednesday. Ronald was a devoted member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Road, Chesterfield, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11AM. Rev. Msgr Michael Schmied(pastor). Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Thursday.
