Booker, Departed this life April 11, 2009. Deaconess Evelyn J. Booker of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Booker Sr., and two sons Thurston Booker Jr. and Melvin Booker. She is survived by seven grandchildren, among them Thurston Murchison Booker and Melvina Booker; great grandchildren; one great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, among them Cynthia Cary and Carol Ruffner and other relatives and friends, among them a devoted Thelma Christopher and Virginia Robinson. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday. Funeral Services will be held Friday, one pm at Grayland Baptist Church, 2301 Third Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Dr. Clifton Whitaker(pastor) , Minister Gina Whitaker, off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 pm on Friday..
