Henry Smith

Departed this life March 29, 2016. Henry Smith, age 85, of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine L. Smith and one son, John O. Dowin. He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Carter and Virginia Turner(William); one son, Glen Kersey(Lillin); ten grandchildren, two of which he raised, Antina Hunt and Yolisa Woody; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters, Kate Dixon and Mary Holland; two brothers, Ed(Minnie) and Sterling(Henrietta) Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; three sisters-in-law; Carrie Smith, Anne Marie Shaw and Ella Mae Smith; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday 1PM at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 812 N. 25th Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. David Frazier(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Saturday.
