Transcended home May 22, 2016. James Edward Johnson, age 88, of Manakin, Va. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Johnson. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Austin Johnson; adopted daughter/cousin Culula Hurt; friend, Vivian Reid, god son, Spencer Truman and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday 12:30pm at First Baptist Church(224 River Road West) Manakin, Virginia where remains will lie in state two hours prior to funeral time. Rev. Deborah Sams(pastor) off. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
