Ret. Lt. Col. Howard R. Alston Jr.

Alston, Howard R. Jr. (Ret. Lt. Col.) age 67, formerly of Richmond, departed this life June 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Alston, one daughter, Jeanell Alston, one son, Howard Alston III, two stepdaughters, Tonjia Williams and Malakia Hill; two grandchildren, two sisters, Marilyn L. Alston and B. Adele Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a son-in-law, Michael Hill, two brothers-in-law, Herbert Lewis Jr. and Michael Wilson; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins, Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 1902 Rosewood Ave., Rev. Michael Moore, pastor officiating. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
