Departed this life September 1, 2016. Fred “Dempsey” Hughes, age 82, of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Squire Hughes; three daughters; Sabrina S. Carter, and Velma E. & Cynthia L. Hughes; two sons, Arthur Barnett and Michael E. Hughes; nine grandchildren; one sister, Muriel H. Burrell; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Danita H. Hughes and Kareema Barnett; three sisters-in-law, Delores Squire & Marion Squire; and Mary McQueen; two brothers-in-law, Tommie C. and James Squire; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday 12 noon at Riverview Baptist Church, 2604 Idlewood Avenue where the family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral. Rev. Dr. Stephen Hewlett(pastor) off. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.
