Departed this life September 27, 2016. Robert Poindexter, age 69, of Richmond. He is survived by his devoted wife, Clarissa Poindexter; two daughters, Stephanie Jones(Gene Sr) and Robin Poindexter(Jim); two grandchildren, Brittany and Gene Jones II; two sisters, Jacqueline Lewis and Geraldine Thompson; one brother, Barry Poindexter Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; mother-in-law, Helena King; four sisters-in-law, Monique Poindexter, Priscilla Barrett(Richard), Sharlene Tucker(Charlie) and Brenda King Coffey; four brothers- in- law; Leonard Lewis, Gus Thompson, William King and Darryl King(Peggy) and devoted friend, Charlotte Gladwell and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 to 7:30. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2811 Fendall Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. A. Lincoln James(pastor). Rev. Paul Coles officiating. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Tuesday.
