Departed this life October 9, 2016. Benjamin Thompson Jr., age 87, of Richmond. He was the owner of Bennie’s Barber Shop. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Thompson; one daughter, Therasse “Tee” Giles(Tony); one son, Benjamin Thompson III; three grandchildren; Monica Williams and Ian & Brandon Giles; three great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; four sisters-in-law; Wanda Thompson, Goldie Phillips, Vernell Burrell, and Mosetta Buchanan; two brothers-in-law, Robert Gayle and Raymond Taylor and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday 12 noon at Second Baptist Church, 1400 Idlewood Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. James Harris(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Saturday.
