Ella Highsmith

Departed this life October 12, 2016. Deaconess Ella Highsmith, age 88, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by a son, Wendell Highsmith Sr. She is survived by her husband, Deacon Joseph Highsmith; two daughters, Velesto Highsmith Courts and Annesto Highsmith Younger; one son, Bobby R. Highsmith Sr.; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two sisters, Janie Price and Elvira Griffin; two brothers, Wardell and Gregory Black; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Marian and Beverly Highsmith; two sons-in-law, Milton Lee Courts Sr. and Tyrone Younger; two sisters-in-law, Lorene and Patricia Black; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 7:30PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11AM at Mosby Memorial Baptist Church, 2901 Mechanicsville Tnpk where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Dr. Price Davis(pastor) Rev. Dr. Stephanie Wilkes-Jefferson officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Wednesday.
