Departed this life November 29, 2016. Alfonzo Mathis Sr., age 74, of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Shirley T. Mathis; one daughter, Jan Mathis-Mizell; one son, Alfonzo Mathis Jr.; one grandson, Terrell Mizell; one brother, John H. Mathis; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; four sisters -in-law; Dorothy Payne, Barbara Robertson, Connie Robertson-Massenberg, and Delores Mathis; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4PM Sunday and where funeral services will be held Monday at 12 noon. Interment Quantico National Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 11:45AM Monday.
