Sims, Departed this life September 21, 2009. Deaconess Vernell C. Sims of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Harold Sims. She is survived by one son, Harold E. Sims Jr.; one daughter, Cheryl E. Sims; six grandchildren; Tyneca Sims-Jefferson, Nadia Sims, Tifanny Morris, Crystal Bloomfield, Quandras Sims and Ja’net Forte; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters; Nellie Webb, Thelma _______ and Mary L. McLeod; five brothers; Alvin China, John, David & Harrison McLeod and Timothy Cook; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter- in-law, Bernadine Mitchell; six sisters-in-law; Barbara, Youner, & Brenda McLeod, Thelma Collins and Louise and Alvah Sims; three brothers-in-law; Alvin Collins and Leon E. and Adolph A. Sims and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM on Friday and where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1PM. Rev. Eugene Brown off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:45PM Saturday.
