Carolyn Yvonne Terry Slayton

Departed this life August 16, 2017, Mrs. Carolyn Y. Terry Slayton of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her father, Horace P. Terry, Sr. and mother, Dorothy Jefferson. She leaves to cherish memories her husband of 35 years, Timothy E. Slayton, Sr.; son, Timothy E. Slayton, Jr.; one sister, Brenda T. Tarpley (Jefferey); brother, Horace P. Terry, Jr. (Barbara); half sister Clarice Davis; one sister-in-law, Sharlee Melvin (Anthony); a host of nieces and nephews, some very devoted and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church 2705 Hartman Street where her remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Roscoe Cooper, III, Pastor, officiating. Interment, Mr. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
